Training Courses Coming Soon!

UK local authorities and the community support sector are central to the energy transition. At CEE we wish to support our partners gain the understanding and knowledge to accelerate community projects and navigate the energy sector with ease.

Therefore, we are in the final stages of developing an in-person training programme designed to provide an understanding of the UK National Grid, key energy concepts, electricity generation, storage, and the transition to a net-zero future.

Please get in touch to register your interest and we will be sure to let you know when final details are confirmed.

Key Learning Areas will include:

  • Introduction to the National Grid
    • History and evolution from the 1930s to a decentralized system
    • Role in energy security and decarbonization
  • Key Energy Concepts
    • Understanding energy units (watts, kilowatt-hours, joules)
    • Carbon intensity and its impact on net-zero targets
    • Energy conversion: primary vs. secondary sources
    • Interactive exercises on household energy use
  • The Physical Structure of the Grid
    • Power stations, transformers, transmission, and distribution networks
